French Gites of Charm & Character

Built in the 18th Century, La Flotte is a restored “period manor house” a short distance from Royan, Charente-Maritime, France. This project was a delight to do as the owner was very accommodating during the 4 days it took to complete the virtual tour – plus as a bonus we got to stay at La Flotte during the shooting.

Initially this all started with an email from the Hotel Marketing Association. They run an annual awards ceremony to present to the best in the industry.

As part of this ceremony there is also a yearly auction of which the proceeds go towards Kids Company – a charity which help at risk and vulnerable young people. We donated a £5000 voucher to the cause.

Tim Walsh, (the owner of La Flotte, check his twitter feed here) ended up with the winning bid and in quick succession, we worked out the best time/season to go and photograph La Flotte.

The Gites

There are four gites in total – Le Petit Manoir, The Old Bakery, Les Volet Bleus & Honeysuckle – all this stretches over a spectacular 16 acres of estate.
